Whatās your name?Ā
Ruby Soho
What part(s) of the industry do you work in?
Stripper
How did you get started in the industry?
I started right at the beginning of the pandemic, the club Iād been waitressing at for a few months had to shut down but they opened up a drive through gogo tent. There were no shifts for me as a waitress but I had an opportunity to gogo and have been dancing ever since. When the clubs reopened I quit waitressing and started dancing full time.Ā
What's your zodiac sign(s), and does it/they resonate with you?
Iām a Pisces with an Aries moon and it absolutely resonates with me. Iām sensitive, creative, and intuitive but also extremely passionate and a bit of an idealist as well. I think the Aries moon makes me a Spicy Pisces and turns up the passion a notch.Ā

How have you made yourself stand out when working?
Iām not sure if itās ever been about standing out for me. I feel like the people that are drawn to me have always felt pulled to me just by the energy I radiate. I love to dance and I get really into my music but I also feel like my wit and sense of humor are a big part of my charm. I love to tease the customers a little bit. It gets them laughing and helps us connect.Ā
What are some of your favorite things and hobbies outside of work?
I love to do photography, go to shows, and in the summer swim and attend as many fun summer events as I can. The Renaissance faire is my favorite you can always find me there.Ā

What is something you feel needs to change in the industry?
We need less men in positions of power and more hoes to take their places! Ā More women manages, more women owners. Men abuse power and love to make money off the backs of the hardworking hoes that keep their clubs busy and then wonāt even do the bare minimum to keep you safe and happy. Obviously every club is different and there are people who are better and people who are worse, but I think as a whole Iād love to see more positions of power being held by women who have a history in sex work themselves and know what it takes to create a healthy club environment.
There is a lot of talk nowadays about sex work being āempowering.ā Is this true for you and why or why not?
Absolutely, itās been very empowering to work a job where I get to walk away when I donāt like someoneās energy towards me. Not a lot of customer service jobs have that privilege. At the same time it can feel quite the opposite when you are tired, burnt out and tired of putting on your persona. I think not a lot of labor in this world is empowering, however I feel like under the right circumstances sex work absolutely has the potential to be. Itās very empowering to get to take your body and your charm and make money off of it instead of people just getting it for free.

What's your favorite colors / styles / accessories to wear at work?
My friend said to me the other day āruby you invented baby pinkā and I loved that. I wear a lot of pink and girly stuff but also a lot of black and fishnet. I try to be creative and try new things but I definitely have my comfort outfits, which are pretty much all angel candy ;)
What has been your biggest challenge in the industry and how do you cope with that?
Itās super hard to keep your energy up and not get burnt out when the club is dry! Ā Especially because so many of us end up working more or harder to compensate for the dry club. I think the best thing Iāve found for myself is that listening to my body and mind has to come first. The money will follow. And sometimes the club really is just dry, thatās not something you can fix so you just have to find a way to ride it out.Ā

What are your plans for the future (can be related to the industry or not!)?
Iād love to start taking my photography more seriously. Ā I love shooting film and I love shooting my stunning coworkers. I hope someday I can be successful at it :)Ā
What advice would you give younger you, if you could, both work related and in general?
Do not date that evil old man!!! Ā
Where can we find you?

Thank you, Ruby! š
